While some printmakers might consider this a beginner's tool, I love it and use it all the time when carving linoleum.
 
The 5 different lino cutters are made of precision ground, high carbon steel.
 
I find the small "V" and "U" gouges indispensable. The gouges can be replaced when they go dull, rather than having to have them sharpened, it is ideal for both beginners and improvers.
 
 
I find that having a separate handle for each of the gouges I use regularly (so I don't have to stop and change the blade) means I work more efficiently.
 
This tool is best used on linoleum and soft "lino" carving blocks rather than wood.
