HoSho x 6 + Lokta x 4 10 sheet paper packs 2 sizes A5 and A4
These paper packs are ideal for those of you wanted to hand print your lino relief designs (and do not have access to a printing press).
These are my 2 favourite papers to hand print with as both create beautiful prints with excellent overall coverage with little effort to transfer the inks to the paper- you can do this by hand, using a printmaking barren or using a spoon or jam jar.
The 2 types of paper included in the pack are Japanese HoSho paper (6 piece in the pack) and Nepalese Lokta paper (4 pieces in the pack).
Hosho paper: Japanese HoSho paper. Ideal for relief printmaking with woodblocks, lino or gel plates. This paper has a mooth and more textured side - it is recommended to print on the smooth side. This paper is very strong and takes ink extremely well - when burnishing (hand printing) you can see the image appear through the reverse of the paper.
Because of the nature of this handmade paper, please expect some speckles on the sheets.
Lokta paper: Lokta paper is a traditional, eco-friendly, handcrafted paper made in Nepal from the bark of the Daphne bush (Daphne papyracea) which grows wild in the Himalayas. Lokta paper was primarily used for writing sacred texts. Lokta paper products are made of bast fibers that are grown in the Himalaya Mountains, Nepal. The heavyweight papers are strong, with a bit of texture, but smooth enough to work with, for instance traditional as well as modern printing methods. Lokta fibers are strong, durable and impervious to insects.
Because of the nature of this handmade paper, please expect some speckles on the sheets.
