GEL Printing in BUDE 3hr Session
Saturday 19th August, 2nd September 1-4pm @ Bude Methodist Church Hall
Service Description
* Monoprinting using a Geli Plate is simple and fun without the need for a printing press or for carving. The reward is immediate, each print is truly unique.* Learn how to print using gelatine (gel/gelli) plates in a friendly supportive environment. All materials provided. Spend 3 hours exploring a variety of Gel Plate Printing techniques. Experiment with layering colour and texture using stencils and masking techniques. Gel printing plates look and feel somewhat squishy like gelatine, but are durable, reusable and can be stored at room temperature for a long time; they come in a range of sizes and shapes, are easy to clean with mild soap and water or baby wipes and are always ready for printing. They are used in conjunction with acrylic paints and need no more equipment than a roller to apply the paint. You will then learn how to hand print onto paper or card ready to take home the wonderful outcomes you create at the end of the session! I will provide a variety of textured items to have a play with and create your unique monoprinted blocks but you can bring anything you want to use to the workshop (leaves, flowers, feathers, thread, paper craft stencils etc- there is no limit to the amazing things you can print with using gel plates!) Refreshments Tea, coffee and snacks will be available but please feel free to bring your own with you. Previous experience This workshop is suitable for people with a range of creative experiences, wishing to explore monoprinting. Suitable for all ages. Please bring with you Any textiles you wish to attempt to monoprint - please be aware these will get covered in acrylic paint so probably will not be useable again. Materials and equipment All equipment will be provided for each student to use on the day, along with various materials to monoprint with and paper for printing you outcomes onto. I will also bring a selection of blank cards, which can also be printed on to create your own highly unique greetings cards. Suitable clothing Please wear old clothes as we will be using acrylic paints. Aprons and plastic gloves will be provided if required. Cancellations See my cancellation policy. If your workshop is cancelled due by me to rare unforeseen circumstances, I will work with you to rearrange an alternative date that is mutually suitable.
